Popping in to say a quick Hello, we're still here but I've got a rather bad dose of bronchitis. GLO has been having some bother logging in (again), his 'pooter really doesn't seem to like him. Hopefully he'll get it sorted and will be back soon ...

Ah Brian, I'm not on holiday. Nor am I ill if you don't count arthritis which like the poor is always with us. We've just had a storm and generous rain, but it's brightnened up a lot. The storm is apparently still over Tiverton, but seems to be staying there.
I'm sorry you're poorly An Tarbh Dubhe. Hope you return to your ground pawing very soon.
Poor GLO. Always a pleasure hearing from you.

Rwth, I have never been one for taking holidays that, involve simply putting my feet up. Walking, visiting art galleries, places of interest is what OH and I enjoy.
Illness is, I guess a hazard of age. My recent fall and, the torn muscle in my back that resulted from it are fading memories. My replacement kness are simply wonderful. I can't begin to explain what it's like to be pain free for the past five years when, the previous twenty were so painful.
May the Bull and Wellsy recover rapidly and GLO return to us soon.

Arrived home early evening from St Ives. Motorways were a nightmare. First hold-up was South of Bristol when a couple of cars broke down. We then met further hold-ups as we got close to the junction with the M42 which, I believe was due to the roadworks further up the road in Oldbury. Finally, on the M42, two lanes were closed due to breakdowns.
Fortunately, we missed the aftermath of of the awful accident on the M5 in which four people lost their lives. That must have happened a few minutes after we passed through that point.
The feeder coach journey back home from Tamworth was a bit testing too. The driver didn't have a clue. Despite his sat-nav, we ended up guiding him.

Glad you're home safe and sound. Even more glad you missed the fatal accident on the M5.
I played in the service this morning. All the right notes, not necessarily in the right order. Delivered the masters of the Parish Magazine to the printer. I can have a week off. I took Cassie up staple Plain for a walk, and now I'm back and not having to work on magazines, or practice for anything, I can go on the bed for a prescription nap.

Rwth,
I hope that you had a restful day having put all of the busy bits behind you.
We went for dinner last evening, having done a weekly shop yesterday morning.
Today it's back to normal albeit, with abnormal elements. My Art Group begins this morning. The first abnormal element in that, we will be collecting our new car. Further, because we don't have to collect our granddaughters this afternoon, we can have a little trip round in it , to get used to it.
Enjoy your days, people.

I had to take another copy of the first couple of pages of the magazine to the Printer because it wasn't quite straight. I had a bad back, ok some of the time, and an injudicious move hurt a lot. Finally back home and I can take a break. Lots of unread library books and one from the book group. I think I'll sleep though.

So pleased to see GLO back with us. Hopefully, your pooter will cease to misbehave.
Here at Castle Cravat, life has pretty much returned to normal after our week in Cornwall. My Art Group recommended operations while we were away so, this was my first week back. As usual, I'm doing something different. During the Summer break I saw an article in a painting and drawing magazine about decorating wooden spoons. I purchased half a dozen spoons fo less than a £1 each. I have the acrylic paints and, all that was left to purchase was a can of clear varnish. Have to say that even I was quite impressed with my first effort!
It's not finished but, it's getting their. Already have another Group Member who is talking about me doing many more and selling them at the sale of work that the craft group that she is a member of. We'll see, it's early days. Have some more ideas. While in St Ives, we visited a gallery which featured paintings on small(ish) flat stones. I may buy some from the local garden centre and give that a go.
Picked up our new car on Monday afternoon and, we're happy with that. OH had a medical appointment yesterday. She's diabetic and, once a year she has to visit the clinic where they examine her eyes. This involves putting drops in which, prevent her driving afterwards. Further, she was out with friends last evening which meant that, I had to act as chauffeur again. Today, I have an early morning dental check-up and, I'm out with friends tonight.
Tomorrow, I resume hearing Education Appeals in Birmingham with OH having her own series of hearings on Friday. I will spend Friday morning wlking with the Action Heart Group.
So life returns to normal.

Good morning folks - and welcome back GLO, glad you have been able to get back in.
I have to report that 3Wells is back in hospital ... respiratory, had a bad asthma attack and local doc said no, you won't be dealing with this one at home. At least she's been responding to nebuliser, hopefully won't be in too long this time. Well, the respiratory specialist did say at her last review that such episodes were likely - the idea is to minimise them, and respond rapidly when they happen.

Oh Dear.. Best wishes to Threewlls .. and I hope the Hospital is not too far distant.
On lesser matters... Pooter only works because I didn't switch it off last night. But I may have to change Password - when I find out how.
.. and now I have to seek my current state of Diabolical Appointments - retinal photos and Blood tests and a visit to nursey. Those who lurk in Peets may find my Verbal/Legal punch ups re my home address.. (not getting post incl NHS appoints).
I'll leave you whilst I go for a scream.....

I thought I'd posted. It got lost.
I'm so sorry 3 Wells is back in hospital. I hope she is released back into the community of leopards, parrots and dogs and humans very soon.
I have switched to Windows 10 and even with a shield is is very volatile and opens a new window as soon as the mood takes it. My comments may be very fleeting. I tried slowing down the mouse, but it is the only stable thing in the set up. I've changed my password about 15 times, and it seems to have settled like a butterfly.

Well you seem to, GLO. I'm struggling even more with my new smart phone. It doesn't seem to want to do as I tell it, and of course, I'm a bit heavy handed with it.
Hope things get resolved for you soon.

Hello....
I seem to have access... sort of... -When I click "Log in" my name shows, with a notice telling me of problems.. but if I continue it now opens (it used Not to) so I will not dabble for awhile.
My "Techiness" is such that I wont suggest things re your smart phone.. One of the Bigger Libraries in this County, offer assistance. OK, I know Basildon or Chelmsford might be a bit distant for you, but does your local Libraries offer any such help?
I shall now attempt another Lurk in Peets to see how 3wells is...

The "Tapatalk" app (available for both Android and Apple) works well, and this site supports it ... since it's a mobile app specifically designed for "message board" use it generally works much better than using the phone's web browser. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it when I next feel up to grappling with it.
When I'm next in Taunton, I may go in to the O2 shop and say "I bought this from you. How do I . . .?" Though these 12 year olds just whizz about over the keys and you are none the wiser or better informed. I'll go back to the manual in due course.
